(AKA Cranberry Hibiscus, Red-Leafed Hibiscus, False Roselle, Florida Cranberry, African rosemallow, Hibiscus acetosella).
*Not to be confused with the closely related plant with similar names, the Roselle or Hibiscus sabdariffa.
The False Roselle.
The deep purple foliage resembles red maple leaves.
Easy to propagate by cuttings or seed.
The flowers are short lived, then fall off.
Use care when handling, there are little spikes.
When left on the plant, the pod dries, opens and drops seeds to the ground.
