Goji Berry (lycium Barbarum)
Goji berry (lycium Barbarum) plants produce a lot of berries. They are fast growing and almost vine like. I trellis it and keep it cut back to 3 feet.
It has little purple blossoms and small thorns along its woody branches.
It tastes like a combination of a tomato and a pepper. I don’t think they taste very good.
I eat a few and throw the rest to the chickens.
The cuttings root very easily in the aquaponics system. This cutting is just over one week old.
When big enough, I transplant them in the yard.
The Goji Berries don’t taste that great, you can throw a handful in your smoothie and you will never know. They’re still a great addition to a permaculture garden or food forest.
